Disc Golf Course selected as a National Winner

Young’s Run Disc Golf Course at Clarence Darrow MetroPark in Warren, Ohio has been selected as the winner of the 2021 DGA RePlay Course Growth Program! DGA is providing Young Run 18 Mach 7 Baskets to replace the existing Mach 3s, which will be used to provide FOUR local elementary schools with baskets!

Each year DGA awards a free course of Mach 7 Baskets to update and upgrade an old course. Winners of the DGA RePlay Course Growth Program are awarded nine new Mach 7 baskets and upcycle their existing baskets to someplace in need!

This year, as the 2021 DGA RePlay Course Growth Winner, Young’s Run Disc Golf Course will upcycle their existing DGA Mach 3s to FOUR local school disc golf programs. Nine of the upcycled Mach 3 baskets will be installed into a brand new disc golf course at Lincoln PreK-8th. Willard PreK-8th, Jefferson PreK-8th, and McGuffey PreK-8th will each get 3 of the remaining upcycled Mach 3 baskets to create mini-courses for their disc golf Physical Education programs. Thanks to Brad Silvers, Young’s Run DGC Representative, four PreK-8th Ohio schools will share in this incredible opportunity to enjoy disc golf.

“Trumbull County MetroParks would like to thank the DGA and Brad Silvers, the local DGA Representative, for this honor of 18 new disc golf baskets. This allows the Park District to pay it forward to Warren City Schools with our upcycled disc golf baskets. This will allow the disc golf course to continue to serve the outstanding local disc golf community for years to come.” says Zachary Svette, Executive Director Trumbull County MetroParks.

Stay tuned! As the Mach 7s are installed at Young’s Run and all 18 Mach 3s are Upcycled to the local schools, we will be posting updates here at the DGA Blog and Trumbull County MetroParks website. Check back in to see how it’s going!
